there's a specific way disabled + chronically ill women are often treated in fiction that really bothers me. like only existing to inspire/develop an able male character, often being killed off for cheap pathos in the process

a trope that infuriates me to no end is Miscommunication/Overhearing the wrong thing out of context. A character hears part of a convo and gets the wrong idea completely and refuses to change their mind or confront them. ugh

Demons are not a bad trope per se, but a tricky one. They can work both as plain evil or morally complex creatures. But mishandle the former and you dehumanize whole groups; mishandle the latter and you sugarcoat barbarities.
